AVX brings the full sound track, as designed for theaters, into the real world of twenty-first century film viewing. With AVX, the most subtle sounds rise above the ambient noise. Background noise is masked by the AVX soundtrack. Soft passages are crystal clear, even at very low volumes. AVX brings new life into the challenging environment of watching films in cars, SUVs, jets, waiting rooms, the beach or wherever laptops, portable DVD players and micro-video recorders are being used now ... and in the future. On the go, or just quietly watching a film while the kids sleep, AVX encoding magically reproduces the full depth of the theater sound experience. View comparison film clips now: Windows Media Mac Quicktime AVX psycho-acoustically encoded sound tracks are decoded by the brain as completely natural, immersive, and true to the exact theater experience intended by the director.

It sounded like surround sound." "I was amazed that I could actually hear a light wind in the movie over the ambient noise." "I didn't have to touch the headphones or the volume. It was always comfortable." "I forgot I was in an airplane" "It does everything it claims to do" |

AVX comparison film clips (mixed with road/jet/ambient noise to simulate the real world) (512 k bits/second Windows Media. For Mac scroll down. Audio artifacts are caused by streaming and not by AVX encoding.)
The film clips are from 'SECOND HAND LIONS*'. The first version of each clip is unprocessed. The second version is with AVX encoding. To simulate real world surroundings, all clips are mixed with noise at 73 DBSPL (similar in level to the interior of a SUV, jet or city exterior location.) All clips are at the same volume level. Most clips start with louder sounds that sound similar with both versions. You will notice that AVX dramatically raises quiet sounds that are drowned by noise, and makes them clear and intelligible.
